Focus on Bosch Performance Line SX

Dear friends,
Winter is marked by great expectations. Many renowned manufacturers are lightly "biting" into the new trend in the field of electric bikes, which are Light eMTBs, eGravel and generally any electric bike, where great emphasis is placed on the final weight of the electric bike. Not that there has been no effort to make light electric bikes, but manufacturers often encountered the general opinion that "an electric bike will carry it", "I prefer real performance" or "we prefer a more massive design for higher reliability" in combination with the set trend for maximum range over the magical 200 km . There was also a trend towards full integration of the battery into the frame, which meant additional kilograms and so some e-bikes reached an unflattering 28 kg.
Probably all the concerns of the manufacturers are addressed by the Bosch Performance Line SX , which will probably be ready for shipment of the first series units shortly after the turn of winter and spring. Although we did not have the opportunity to participate in the test drives of the manufacturers' prototypes, let's take a look at the biggest advantages of this engine and describe for which areas of use it will be suitable and for which it will not - in other words, focus on it .
Active riders who do not want to get rid of their classic bike yet and who have sufficient physical fitness and mastered the pedaling cadence technique will enjoy e-bikes the most. I mention this in the first place mainly because the SX has lower torque compared to "full-fat" motors and this will be especially noticeable when I want to push the cranks to a heavy gear uphill. This brings me back to the statement that if I am not an active rider with a learned pedaling cadence, the motor will not be able to squeeze out its optimum and will seem weak - then choose the Performance Line CX.
Riders with a mastered cadence will appreciate that the entire electronics system (motor, battery, wiring, controls) weighs barely over 4 kg and since it will most often be mounted on lightweight carbon frames in combination with lightweight top-of-the-line components (including, for example, electronic shifting), the total weight can be around a pleasant 16 - 18 kg (according to manufacturers' specifications - we will weigh each e-bike later). This is at the level of lower-mid-range aluminum bicycles.
Bosch also thought about the potentially biggest weakness of its new system - the CompactTube 400 battery with a relatively low capacity of 400 Wh (11 Ah). Using the common calculation metric for an average range of 8 Wh / km, we get to 50 km, which is not much these days. However, let's not forget that the typical user is a physically fit rider and 8 Wh / km will be an indefensible overestimate for an average ride. A value closer to reality will be around 4 - 5 Wh / km, while we get to a pleasant 80 - 100 km range. In any case, it may be appropriate for users to use the simple installation of an additional PowerMore 250 battery and ensure a total capacity of 650 Wh, i.e. at the level of the most commonly found batteries.

The trend of lightening will also include the introduction of e-bike control elements. The Bosch System Controller, which is almost invisible but fully sufficient for controlling e-bike functions, is hidden in the top frame tube and will often be supplemented by an optional Mini Remote controller.

Either way, you always have the option to purchase a set with a Kiox 300 display or use your phone with the eBike Flow app as a display in the SmartphoneGrip .
Anyway, we are really looking forward to the Bosch Performance SX bikes and I believe you are too, so keep an eye on the situation and as soon as Bulls and KTM (unfortunately not Haibike) start manufacturing and shipping, we will be there. For now, you can at least see a small taste of what the bikes will look like Show e-bikes with Bosch Performance SX
On the occasional blog Novinky z společnosti you can read about upcoming news, detailed reviews and descriptions of interesting e-bikes, and even some short-term discounts. It's worth following.

Mám CUBE AMS Hybrid One44 SLX so systémom Bosch Performance Line SX a 400Wh batériou.
