Focused on DEMA E-LLIOT, E-LLEN

Dear customers,

Today we will introduce another of the e-bikes that are unjustly sidelined. These two counterparts of trekking e-bikes are, in my opinion, even some of the most underrated models in our entire offer, and in order to be able to adequately appreciate what they excel at and what sets them apart from their best-selling competitors, let's focus on their equipment and overall impression of them.
It is of course true that the trekking e-bike segment itself suffers from the dominance of mountain and sport bikes, thanks to their ability to offer greater versatility across terrains, relegating trekking e-bikes to use on a narrower range of routes, especially on paved roads and asphalt trails. But in such conditions, the E-LLIOT and E-LLEN thrive.

First of all, it should be said that both are equipped with a Bafang M420 motor, which in itself is a powerful and slightly dull motor and its use on narrow paths in the terrain could be uncomfortable due to its slower response, but for tourist use it is perfect thanks to its lower price and quiet performance. The chosen Suntour NEX suspension fork is also in the same spirit, which again lags behind in its precision in more difficult terrain.

But let's move on to a prepared asphalt road without potholes, whether in the lowlands south of Brno, through the slightly undulating landscape to our border mountains with good cycling infrastructure. It is in the interest of every sports and recreational rider that the efficiency of the engine's energy transfer and his own is as high as possible and that there are no unnecessary losses, which brings me to the first huge (and unfortunately hidden at first glance) advantage - encapsulated industrial bearings in the hubs. In practice, they manifest themselves in the fact that you spin the front wheel at leisure, make a coffee and when you finish drinking it, the wheel is still spinning. In addition, the bearings are much less subject to degradation over the years, so they require fewer service interventions.
Another advantage (which is no longer invisible) is the above-standard drivetrain and brake setup. I generally consider the eleven-speed gearing with an 11-42 cassette range to be the best setup for e-bikes in terms of gear usability for dynamic riding with sufficient gear reserve for steep climbs and faster passages. Shimano Deore RD-M4120 traditionally works absolutely reliably in this regard.
The Clarks M4 four-piston brakes could be considered an unnecessary luxury on an e-bike for paved roads, and with a 160 mm rear disc, I would call it a small, insignificant plus.
A big plus is the Extend brand saddle, wide, comfortable, gel - exactly as it should be on trekking and touring bikes.

The description might give the impression that the equipment of the E-LLEN and E-LLIOT models would be much more suitable for a mountain bike. Fortunately, such a bike exists and it is called the DEMA Ergo . All the positive things written about it apply, with the exception that thanks to its mountain bike construction, wider tires and higher fork travel, it is more versatile for use outside the relatively narrow spectrum of paved roads. Only the saddle is perhaps too sporty...

All three models are currently on winter sale for around 50 thousand, and you can also combine the offer with Equipment for 3000 CZK for free and equip trekking bikes with a rack and mudguards, equip Ergo with a more comfortable saddle, or buy a new helmet, gloves, and goggles.

All models in all sizes are on display at the store in Brno for you to try out. Click here to view the DEMA e-bike offer and place an order
