Modular Rail System (MRS) is a system for installing various accessories into some Haibike bicycle and e-bike frames. It consists of a long rail or several shorter rails, into which "stones" can be inserted as false threads. Their main advantage is the possibility of installation anywhere along the entire length of the frame, as is convenient for a particular rider. At the same time, when the MRS is not used, it does not disturb the line of the frame tube.

The basic element of the rail attachment is the XLC MRS Mounting Multiadapter MR-S10 , which is enough on its own to attach any accessory - a bottle cage, pump or other decorations. You can then cut the original rubber supplied as needed and return it to the unused pieces of the groove.

Other mounting aids are more interesting. The same principle of stones is used by XLC Fidlock Rails for MRS MR-S15 , compatible with Twist locks and therefore Fidlock accessories, such as the XLC DownTube Bag or any Fidlock bottle (or both...). The transport options can then be expanded with the universal XLC MRS Kitrack MR-S11 strap.

A very interesting accessory is the XLC rail lock MR-S02 , which you attach to the MRS rail using the same principle and when used in combination with a compatible lock, for example the ABUS 4960 chain 6KS100, you ensure the safety of your bike. The loop at the end of the lock allows you to tie more bikes to a fence, for example, even though the chain is relatively short - 100 cm. The package with the rail lock even includes a spare lock insert, which some manufacturers use to lock the battery to the frame. By replacing this insert, it is then possible to ensure that the bike is locked and the battery is unlocked with the same key!

The absolute bomb is the possibility to mount an additional battery on most Haibike e-bikes to ensure an unrivaled range. Currently, there is a Range extender for Yamaha PW-S2 and PW-X3 motors in combination with a 720 Wh battery. The Simplo 360 Wh battery and its installation kit are available for purchase either for hardtails and trekking or for full-suspension e-bikes .

Haibikes with a non-smart Bosch motor then use a similar principle - you insert an additional Bosch PowerPack 500 frame battery (alternatively PowerPack 400 or PowerPack 300) into the Haibike The Range Extender holder.
A new additional battery, the PowerMore 250, has been developed for the Smart system. It is mounted into classic threads, which takes us back to the beginning with the MR-S10 stones.

Final note: most products for MRS have a note from the manufacturer that they are not compatible with Haibike TREKKING 9/10 LowStep, TREKKING 9 CROSS LowStep and Winora Yucatan 10/12 Wave, Yucatan 12 Pro Wave - these models have the MRS groove made in a different way, which does not exclude its use for the above purposes, but their variability is reduced and additionally mounted accessories may bind when getting on / off.
