Interview with Václav Postránecký about e-bikes and weight loss

What made you, a busy actor and artist, become interested in e-bikes?

My weight and the surroundings of Říčany, where I live. I came to the conclusion that my 120kg live weight must be the maximum, that above that, no more deco. I also resented the fact that my work mostly takes place in artificial lighting, in closed rooms, sometimes even basements. It required movement in nature.

What bike did you specifically choose from the market for yourself and other family members?

When I discovered e-bikes on the market, my wife surprisingly became interested in them. The idea of ​​something helping her pedal, something strengthening her muscles while sparing her joints was very appealing to her. The choice of the Lectron e-bike was mainly determined by the equipment and the range data with assistance.

Are you satisfied?

My wife and I now each have our own Lectron and we are thrilled with them, as is anyone we lend them to for a while. The length of our trips is now determined only by the weather, hunger and approaching night, not our dwindling strength.

How do you rate the range of an electric bike?

I thought this way: if the battery is supposed to provide the electric motor with a range of over 100km with an ideal 60kg rider, then for me, at 120kg, I would consider half the range as regular. But the motor stopped helping me when the speedometer showed 128km!

Where do you mainly ride your e-bikes and how many km have you ridden per season?

During the summer and early autumn of last year, my wife rode over three hundred kilometers and I rode 1,086 kilometers. All within a 30-kilometer radius of Říčany, mostly on forest bike paths. I now weigh 112 kg and my grandchildren call me Grandpa Chipper. I'm not sure what they really mean, though. They're mischievous.

Who would you recommend e-bikes to and why?

For anyone who has already broken a stick over their sporting achievements. When I show my massive butt to cyclists without an electric drive in the hills, when overtaking, it is a priceless feeling. Huge range and perfect equipment - that's what Lectron e-bikes are for me.
